Welcome to James Rudd’s digital hub!

I am a graduate, freelance writer, deep-thinker, organiser, media professional, hobbyist, traveller and lover of all things weird, wonderful and creative.

Writer: From a young age, all I’ve wanted to do was write. I write, bright, deep, violent, colourful, energetic and meaningful fiction. I also write informative, well-researched and easy-to-read news pieces (including reviews and interviews). I even write for businesses of all shapes and sizes. I am always seeking opportunities to challenge myself, improve my skills and to prove myself in creative and professional environments. My aim in life is to produce works that people will enjoy and find fascinating, helpful and informative. My life is dedicated to the typing and re-typing of words.

Media Professional: I have had many varied and fulfilling experiences in the broad media landscape over the past few years; working as an arts and film critic, writer in residence, freelancer, communications professional, local zine contributor, journalist assistant, blog-writer and even as a team-member in a chocolate factory! As a largely self-employed creative, I am conscientious, meticulous, motivated and independent but also a friendly and co-operative team-player. I am well-organized, web-savvy and efficient, with a wide variety of skills and experience in media production, writing, proposing, planning, editing and research.

Graduate: As of 2017, I am a graduate of both a Bachelor of Media and Bachelor of Arts from The University of Adelaide, South Australia. In the second half of 2015, I also undertook study in Germany, completing a semester focusing on psycho- and socio-linguistics at the University of Mannheim. I have also undertaken various extra-curricular courses centered around freelancing and editing.

Lover of all things weird, wonderful and creative: But most of all, I like to think of myself as a creative, inventive and friendly individual with a great love of travel, art, media and literature of all kinds. I’m also a fiend for miniature hobbies.
